    Does length really matter?

Does length really matter? According to Andy Neal it does for hair rigging! Read on to find out why…

One of the biggest things to rock the match fishing world has to be the introduction of the hair rig. Since match anglers borrowed it from the specimen fraternity it has dramatically changed the way we fish and catch fish, and has done so for many years. Matty Stockton wins the GOT Baits/Matchbox, Stafford Moor Autumn Festival 2010

This article is a blow-by-blow account of how the Mosella backed, Black Country Bagging Machine won the latest big money festival at the South West’s Premier fishery ‘Stafford Moor’. In doing so, Matty became the youngest ever winner of the festival at the tender age of 20 years old! Read on to learn how he did it and prime yourself to achieve great results with Hints, Tips and his crucial Tackle breakdown…
It all started on the Friday 15th October 2010, 3 days before the start of the GOT Baits/Matchbox festival. Matty arrived at the bagging water before lunchtime with his travelling partners, Nigel Waddell (Nobby) and Neil Cotterill (Cotie). They would later be known as ‘The ‘Triangle’ as they shared a van, a Bed and Breakfast and the winnings (Nobby and Cotie certainly know how to pick their friends!)

A brisk walk around the fishery was the first activity, talking to locals and other anglers who had arrived for the festival. They also took the opportunity to watch the residents match and catch up with Fishery owner and general ‘Wizard of the Water’, Andy Seery.

This was followed by a preparation session on peg 4 of Woodpecker lake (‘The Pecker’), where Matty refined his tackle and spent a couple of hours tying rigs and some hair-rigged hook lengths for the week ahead.

    by Tom Clegg

Red Revolution! Alternatively it could be green, black or brown – for the new Atomic Cloud additive from GOT Baits comes in four colours and flavours. Whichever you choose, all the evidence suggests it’s likely to cause a big bang. Tom Legge joined creator Trevor Price for a demonstration at Alders Farm. Trevor Price dunked his pole cup into a bait box containing a vivid red liquid, scooped up a batch then swung his pole’s top three kit around and poured it into his swim from a fair old height.
